Web Development in Utah

NuEthic’s origins are centered in the metro Salt Lake City area and we have come to form an opinion about the landscape of web development in Utah as well as web developers in Utah. There are some interesting dynamics with doing business here as a web development firm. One not knowing our State may never realize this but there is a wellspring of technology and innovation that has its roots in Utah. Companies such as Adobe, Iomega, Novell, Atari, WordPerfect, and Omniture all have origins through Utah. Utah innovators also proudly claim their stake in technologies ranging from the production of compact discs, to the discovery of Radar, to the very television we watch every day. Having addressed that, what impact does that rich technology background have on the ever growing web development providers in this area. To be honest, we have an abundance. With the prestige of the CS programs at Brigham Young University and the University of Utah as well as the focus of Neumont University for pure development education, flocks of programmers enter the workforce every year. What you get is a web startup company soup with output and quality all across the board. We see many freelancers ranging from good developers working off hours to technical college kids who took an HTML class and are selling their DreamWeaver abilities at best. We know if can be a nightmare to find the right firm to work with this particular recipe and the last thing you would want to do is go down the path of time and money and end up with something you don’t like, or even worse, something you don’t like and are bound hostage to by that firm or freelancer. We have outlined ways you can protect yourself from that situation with an article entitled The Top Ten Qualities to Look for in a Web Development Firm. Apart from these points, we feel one of the greatest measures against finding yourself in that situation is looking at client satisfaction of that firm.
